Fond memories, of a dear, friend
Alex. Chisholm - a very dear, friend, from so long, ago. Alex. and I went, to the same, schools - West Bridgend, Primary and then, Dumbarton Academy. Later on, after school days, Alex. and I, both worked, in Dewrance, in Dumbarton, for a while. After that, Alex. went, to 'America' (as we, called it) and I went, to live, in Canada. I can, remember the day, when I received a letter, from my Mother, (I was living, in Canada then) to let me, know, that Alex. had been killed, in action, in Vietnam. I can remember, the horrible feeling and later, my Mother, telling me, that she, had attended, Alex. funeral, which she said, had been the saddest thing. It will be, 40, years, in September, since I heard, that shocking news, but Alex., is with God, now and I often pray, for him. I will, never forget him and those days, when we were all, so very young and didn't know, what lay ahead. God Bless you, Alex.. With love, Susan

remembering, an old friend
In my mind, I still see, the handsome boy, walking up, Castlehill brae. How soon, God, took him back. We were, all so young, in those days, who knew, how cruel the world could, become and our beautifull friend, would pay, such a price. So far away, in a country, we hardly knew, existed. I thank God, for his memory and pray, his sisters, have found comfort, through the years. I remember, the day of his funeral, in Dumbarton and how unreal, it seemed and the grief, of his poor mother and family. May, God bless them, all. anne cunningham, ont., Canada

Uncle Alex, I Will Always Remember You ~~
My dearest Uncle Alex, I can still remember your brilliant smile and your playful pranks you pulled on Alex and me:) How handsome you were, how beautiful "Aunt" Valerie was.what a perfect pair you two were going to be. How you loved us little horrors.took us to the park, the circus and kept us entertained. Was it any wonder you were THE favorite uncle?:) I miss you and think of you and Alex often. Love forever, Jo-Anne
