Gerald Groon bgroon@acsnet.com classmate at Akron, Iowa 18948 Bluebird Ave Akron, Ia 51001 Plymouth I attended highschool with Myllin, and was a close friend. But do remember him as an intelligent student. I served in Vietnam from Jan 68 to Sept 68 with the Navy. I was stationed at DaNang,Vietnam. I am active with the local legion and visited the traveling wall in LeMars. The LeMars legion secured the wall a few years ago, and we paid tribute to the 7 Plymouth County soldiers. Karen (Frerichs) Carner karencarner@yahoo.com High School Classmate Monroeville, PA I had the privilege of knowing Myllin as a classmate all through high school. I remember him well intelligent, funny, friendly. It broke my heart to learn of his death in Vietnam. I have thought of him often throughout the years and didn't know much about his life after high school. I thank Barb for sending me the information. I have looked at this memorial site many times in the last few weeks and just don't know how to express my saddness at his wonderful life cut short. When I think of heros, Myllin always comes to mind. As a member of the Akron High School Class of 1964 I will always be proud to call him my friend. Rest in peace. Friday, March 17, 2006 |

Randi Mackey (Moore) macrandi@gmail.com Friend 1253 First Avenue SW Le Mars, IA 51031 USA Close Friend We lived on K13 between Myllin's house and Hiway 3. My fondeest memory of Myllin: EVERY time Myllin drove by (no matter the time) he would start honking from the top of the hill at the south end of our acreage to the top of the next hill at the north end of our acreage. My Dad, Richard Moore, would always say - "There goes that Henrich boy!" And we'd all laugh. I would run to the window to see if I could wave at him before he went by - I usually was NOT quick enough! I think he liked fast cars! Myllin was the only guy allowed to 'stop by' at my slumber parties, but even he had to be gone by midnight - and Mom checked! I didn't realize until I had children of my own and they had 'guy friends' that Myllin was my best 'guy friend' in high school. Myllin was kind to everyone. He was honorable and I will always miss him. One of our daughters sent us a rubbing from the traveling memorial when she visited it & Jim and I took pictures of our hands next to his name when the memorial came to Le Mars - even our kids know how important Myllin was in our lives. Thank you Barb for keeping us 'in touch' with a wonderful friend. Happy 60th birthday, Myllin. You will never be forgotten and always remembered with fondness. See you on the 'other side' one day.
