OH!. I HAVE SLIPPED THE SURLEY BONDS OF EARTH, AND DANCED THE SKIES ON LAUGHTER-SILVERED WINGS. WHERE NEVER LARK OR EAGLE EVER FLEW-AND WHILE WITH SILENT, LIFTING MIND I'VE TROD THE HIGH UNTRESSPASSED SANCTITY OF SPACE, PUT OUT MY HAND AND TOUCHED THE FACE OF GOD.

Ashleigh B. cpage@pinecrest.edu My Hero and Inspiration Dear Major, Arthur Baker, I cannot express in words, the hurt and deep pain, that sliced through me, when I heard, of your selfless bravery. Like all of the other magnificent men, that showed, such love and commitment in Vietnam, your legacy will, always live on. To your fellow soldiers, family, friends, and other loved ones, I feel that it, is my duty, to tell you, of how much I respect and honor, this great man. Though I never knew him, his bravery, and dedication, to our county, shows so clearly, from his acts of sacrifice, for this country. I know that freedom, is not free, and I have to remember, that the only reason, why I can live, the way I do today, is because of all, of the noble sacrifices, that the gallant men made in Vietnam for our country. I have the outmost respect, for every single man, who fought, in Vietnam and I will always, carry your story, in my heart. You are my hero, and I'am thankful, that you are now, resting in peace, with God. Mar 2, 2007 |
