To young, to remember, the details
I was in the third grade, in 1968. I remember that (class) and (school) knew, about his death, but I'm not sure, how. Our neighbor and friend, Bob Byrnes was Missing in Action, the news came out the he was Killed in Action, what a connection for all. Bob just got married, His death affected me at the age, of 8. Funny the things that stay, with you forever. His death, stayed with me so much, that I went to Vietnam, last November. I went to many, of the battle sites. I study and read all I can, about Vietnam. I thought, of Bob Byrnes and his family often, on the trip. I know he is a hero, to me. I know Jamie Byrnes (Jimbo) brought him, to school for the all kids to meet. Bob was real good to all of us, we all enjoyed him very much, it has been 40, years, ago and our thoughts, are with Bob and his family.

Bob, You are amazing and I pray, that your family. You died, a HERO. Bob, You will remain a hero, in my heart and the hearts, of thousands of other people, who lost someone, in action.
