Happy Valentine's Day, Bob
Rememberance, of a Fathers Friend, Bob Byrnes
Although i didnt know Bob, i'm in the middle of a report, on the vietnam, war memorial. So I called my grandfather, for help. Every time my grandfather talks of you, Bob, it almost brings him to tears, it was painful. My grandfahter and Bob, came from the same hometown Carmichael, Ca. and grew up together, he told me alot about you and the you, were a great person. I'am a sophomore in High School, I'am posting this remembrance, as part of the High School, Posting Project. It is an honor to know someone, who my grandfather knew, it is my obligation as an American, to take a few moments of my time to thank you, Bob, for fighting for my country and ultimately sacrificing yourself. You gave your life so all American’s, could be guaranteed, freedom and opportunity. I would never be able to do, what you have done. There is not the proper word, that can be said, to thank you and honor you, as you deserve. Thank you, so very much and may God, be with your family and those, who were close to you.

From the stories they told me, they still remember and will, never forget you. It was a Honor for me, to help show them your name, on the wall and for them to honor me, with their stories of your life. May GOD Bless You and your family forever. You will be, in my prayers and will, never be forgotten.

It was 40, years ago, 02-9-1968, when Bob was killed. I'm sure he knows, he is remembered, don't need a holiday to think about Bob. You will, never be forgotten, Bob. Now, you have so many with you, in heaven, but you still are in our hearts, here, on earth.

You, are never Forgotten

Hi Bob, you don't remember me, I was 4, years old, when I first saw you, maybe in 63, but you graduated, with my sisters at La Sierra, High School, even though you knew Patty well, it was Revena, that had a crush on you. In 2007, we went to the Vietnam Wall, in DC. and found, your name and traced it, there was'nt a dry eye. Revena, to this day, has it in a picture frame with a high school, picture, of you. Just to let you know, you are missed. Thank you, for serving your country.
