Dear fallen hero, I never knew you. I never even heard of you before I came across you in my search for a family friend who had died as a pilot, like you. He was also in the Navy. But nonetheless, I honor you, because you fell protecting us, something I can only dream of doing. You were one who understands that if it is required of you to give your life, you'd give. And you did. You've taught me something. Service for the greater good is worth more than selfishness, something of which I have unfortunately done. Thank you, fallen hero. I will never forget you.

I also have worn Capt Peter Sherman's bracelet since 1968. I am now 52 and each day is a reminder of the gift our wonderful soldiers have given to us to keep our life in the USA free.... I pray every day for our soldiers to be kept safe and to come home soon.

Thank You for your service, dedication, and sacrifice to allow me to continue to live in freedom.
In memory of Capt. Peter W. Sherman. Thank you, sir, for all that you gave for our country. I have worn a Vietnam Veterans,POW/MIA bracelet with your name on it since 1968.I am now 49 years old, and still have the bracelet sitting here with me as I write this.I am also a U.S. Navy veteran, and am proud to have served, and am proud and honored to be associated with a man such as yourself. I can't say enough thanks, or describe in words, how I feel about your sacrifice to our country. I never knew you, but I feel like we were always connected through this bracelet. May God rest your soul in peace forever, and bless your family and loved ones. Thank you again, sir. May we sail together some wonderful day. It would be my honor.

I wore a bracelet with your name, Captain Peter Sherman dated 6/10/67...........not knowing who you were but knowing that you were making a difference. I was reorganizing today, on this Veterans Day, and found that bracelet that I wore in memory of you almost 40 years ago. How appropriate to remember you on this date! My sincere condolences to your family and friends who remember you each and every day. I don't even know you but I feel the loss. May God bless you and your family. I will never, ever forget you!

A Hero in my eyes
I have never met you, until today I didn't have a picture to put with the name. I never knew your history, or your family - but I wore your bracelet with pride and hope. I passed your bracelet down to my daughter, who in turn wore it with hope and honor. I have it my hand - your name shining up at me with quiet dignity. Until today, I never knew if you made it home. You are home. You were loved and prayed for by people who never knew you - but were honored to wear your name. God's love to you and your family. Thank you for being my hero.
