'Thank You' for the "Thank Yous"
. . Contributed By Michael P. Parker On Thursday, March 18, 2004
I as a Viet Nam Vet (173rd Airborne Brigade 69-70) would like to give a BIG "THANK YOU" to all of those who have said "THANKS" to us who were there. For so many years we thought nobody really cared.but I have since found that not to be the case. I have just noticed a 14 yr. old girl from somewhere in the U.S. saying 'THANKS' to all of us, and she wasn't even born when all this was going on. THANK YOU all ever so much. I am moved by this. Bless you all for just taking the time.

For every name on the black granite wall, there is a face, a story and someone who still misses them. Bob quit Case Western Reserve to enlist, he believed it was his duty. He was a medic in "D" company 3d battalion 21st infantry regiment, 196th light infantry brigade. He was killed on June 11, 1968 in Quang Tree Province after only being in Viet Nam for 3 months. He courageously ran through hostile fire and physically carried wounded men to safety. The last time he didn't make it and was mortally wounded. He will always be my hero and forever in my heart.
