Agent Orange . . Contributed By Sadina Carter On Tuesday, February 11, 2003 My Father was in the 101st Airborne Divison in Vietnam. I am not for sure on alot of his information. I know that he entered in Company D; 1st Bn. 1st Bde. I am not even sure of what that means. I have that he entered basic training May 20, 1968 and completed July 12, 1968. I have his discharge paper, but I can make no sense of it. He passed away on April 4, 1999 due to cancer caused by contact with the chemical Agent Orange used in this war. I would like to know more info. on this and maybe some clarification on how to determine more on his duties that he carried out.

Andrew Richard Sinchak Jr. . . Contributed By Stephanie On Sunday, February 16, 2003 I was wondering if anyone knew my uncle? My dad was in 5th grade when he died and didn't really know him and I was wondering what he was like. I don't really know his rank or anything but I think he was a PFC and I know it probably won't be easy to find people that knew him. When I get more information about him I will write an entry on here again. I'm in the 9th grade and would love to learn about him. I am also studying the vietnam war and was wondering if any survivors or spouses of those who didn't make it could maybe tell me a little about what happened or how they felt. If you could please help me out with any of these two thing I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much- Stephanie
Death of Charles B. Shannon . . Contributed By Randy Hyde On Monday, February 17, 2003 Charles died on 2/4/03, his funeral was on 2/10/03. Charles served in the USN, 1970-1973, aboard the USS Constellation in VietNam. Charles always had time for any one. He was the District Executive Director of the Southern Region YMCA in San Antonio. Charles was the man to call to get anything done on the east side of San Antonio. Charles was a champion for youth and families. He is sorely missed and is a great loss to the community. I agree with a statement in his eulogy, "most of us will never be the man that Charles was." He is buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetary. RIP brother.

suicide of a disabled Vietnam vet . . Contributed By Michael Lecky On Wednesday, February 19, 2003 When a Vietnam combat vet lives for more than thirty years with his psychological injuries, then kills himself, after working hard for his family and for the homeless vets in his community, is he not a casualty of the war?. Has he not earned a place on The Wall? I'm hoping to hear from someone who can advise me on how to proceed. Don was my neighbor. I attended his funeral last Saturday.
