I LOOKED INTO THE FACES OF THE MEN IN MY PLATOON: THEY KNEW THE FIGHT WAS COMING, HEADING THIER WAY REAL SOON. THEY LOOKED SO YOUNG AND SCARED, MUCH TOO YOUNG TO DIE. GAVE ME A REAL SICK FEELING, MADE ME WANT TO CRY. BUT THEY WERE THERE TO DO A JOB, LIKE THEIR FATHERS HAD DONE BEFORE. TO DO IT FOR THEIR COUNTRY, AND ASK AGAIN FOR MORE. I STILL REMEMBER THEM DYING AND CRYING FOR THE MOM, THOSE BRAVE YOUNG MEN WHO GAVE IT ALL THE THEN SOME. I DIDN'T KNOW MY SAVIOR THEN, BUT NOW I AM BORN AGAIN, HE CLEANSED ME OF MY SINS, NOW I LIVE MY LIFE FOR HIM. HE PUT VIETNAM ALL BEHIND ME, HE ERASED IT FROM MY THOUGHT. HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD WAS SPILLED, AND WITH IT MY SOUL WAS BOUGHT. I WILL LIVE MY LIFE FOR HIM IN EVERTHING I DO, AND IF YOU TURN TO HIM, HE WILL DO IT FOR YOU, TOO. IN MEMORY OF JERRY DEAN JONES, LEXINGTON, KENTUCY KIA-1970 WRITTEN BY: VIETNAM VETERAN CO C 75th AIRBORNE RANGER LONG RANGE RECON PATROL AN-KHE, VIETNAM

Closing Ceremony at MOVING WALL Sept.ember 9,2000 . . Contributed By Chaplain Howard Flexer On Wednesday, September 13, 2000 My wife & I went to the MOVING WALL for the last visit as it was closing this Eve. As I walked back & forth helping those who wanted it to find a name, rub it on a slip of paper to take home with them. We cryed, prayed, told stories about them. I hoped I made it a little easier on all of us. Just before the closing ceremony was to start they asked me to do the benediction as the Chaplain who was to do it did not show. I told them I would be honored. During the ceremony different speakers talked. Then they asked if any Vietnam Veteran wanted to speak. A few spoke with teary eyes. Then the Master of Ceremonies read my story about our first visit to a MOVING WALL back in 1998. I was again honored. I did the benediction and it started to rain. They retired the colors. As we left it poured. We were soaken wet till I got home 50 miles later. As I put on dry things I started cry again remembering being wet for weeks as most of my fellow Vietnam Veterans do. I hope I honored all my fellow Veterans on that WALL and all of you. God Bless, With God Chaplain Flexer
Charles Cook . . Contributed By Condons On Saturday, September 16, 2000 My husband had a very close friend named Charles Cook while he was in the Marines at Camp LeJeune, NC in 1969. He was told that Charles was killed in VietNam while my husband was on leave before being shipped out. Years later another friend told him that he saw him, and that he was alive. I cannot find his name here, so there is a possibility that he may have survived. If anyone has any information about him please email us at condon@mlecmn.net Thank you.

My Father . . Contributed By LB On Wednesday, September 20, 2000 I am taking a class on the Vietnam and all of the study is individual work. I am taking the class to better understand what my Father had to encounter. I examine myself in a situation like that and I can only feel sad to all of the men who served. In a strange land, strange voices so far away from home. I don't think he ever came back from there, he came back but he is not the person I should have got to know. I am twenty one years old and would like to know him. To tell him I love him and that i will never hate him and I am afraid I will never be able to have an opportunity to know him. Martin Milczanowski my Father I love you and i hope one day I will be able to know Melinda and John. I am trying to start anew with my relationship with my cousins. I love you, I hope you live along time. I am hoping.
