Anthony Tome aetome@aol.com Friend 5240, Sun Dial Place, Boulder, CO., 80301, USA Dear Bernie, The anniversary, of your death, is upcoming. I just recently, heard "good" news, if there can, be good news, in a tragic event. The remains, of Lance Corporal, John Gillespie have been, recovered and he was returned, home, to Australia, to be united, with his family and friends. The Aussies are planning, to erect a memorial, to him and to you, at the site, of the helicopter crash. I imagine, you and John, are enjoying, a pint and lighting up, a stoogy, as you read this. Put some shrimp, on the barby. Forever, your friend. Apr 1, 2008 |

Someone Who, Cares Deeply I just wanted to say, Happy Birthday. It seems, that you would have been, 60, years old, today and I, just thought, that I, would say, Happy Birthday. I also want, to thank you, for your great, sacrifice, you made, for this country. I guess, that you, were married and may, God give her the strength, to live knowing, that she was, married, to a hero. Someone who sacrificed their life, to save, their beloved country. Thank you, so much, for your sacrifice. Because of you and your fellow veterans, I can sit, here, tonight and feel free. God Bless You and your family, for I'am, sure, that you will always be, in their hearts and minds. Nov 27, 2007 |

Suzanne Whitton Scgirlsonice@aol.com friend 615, Ascot Ridge, Rock Hill, SC., 29730, USA Happy Birthday - you and my uncle share, the same birthday I felt compelled to post a message, as I just did to my uncle, Leyburn Watts Brockwell. He would have been 80, today, yet his handsome face is frozen, in my mind at age 38. So young, so long, ago and such, a bitter pill to swallow. I think you would be, 61 and I'am sure, to your loved ones, your at the age you were, when you began your tour of duty. I told "Pete," (Leyburn) I'am an avid admirer, of Billy Graham and he says, you are in a much better place, but taken from us so young, makes it hard. Thank you, for serving and giving, the ultimate sacrifice. You, are not forgotten and you will always, be a hero. Nov 27, 2007 |

Anthony Tome aetome@aol.com Friend 5240, Sun Dial Place, Boulder, Co., 80301, U.S. Memorial Day Dear Bernie, Today, is Memorial Day. A day when we honor, those who have fallen in battle, preserving the freedom of our country. I remember, our days together, at Duquesne. We didn't, think about death. I guess, that is the anesthesia, of youth. I think, about you often and regularly, visit this page. I hope that, wherever you are, you see my messages and know how much, I have missed you. I can't help coming here, without getting tears in my eyes. I miss you. I wish things, had turned out different. Like so many others, I wonder why, you and not me? I wonder, if you had enlisted in the Marines, with me, if things would have turned out differently? Would some of your courage, have rubbed off on me? Would you be on this board right now, leaving messages for me? Would you be at home, with your wife and children and grandchildren, telling them, about the best friend, that you ever had, who was lost in the war? Monday, May 30, 2005 |
