Kenneth   Homsley Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 Bob I didn't get to spend enough time getting to know. The one thing I do remember about Bob is that he loved life and always had a smile on his face. May he and the rest of the servicemen named on the Wall always be remembered.

Bob Byrnes, While I never knew you I became lifelong friends with a fellow teacher and coach who was honored by receiving the Water Polo award created in your name in 1968. My memories of my years spent in Sacramento are most precious to me and I hope that some day you may return to your days of youth and see the leaves turn golden and hear the cheering crowd on Feb 28, 2008 |

Andrew T.  Cox Admirer Arroyo Grande, CA 93420 USA Honor and respect for Lt Robert Scott Byrnes goes beyond words -thank you! Thank you too family for sharing of yourselves as others view this heroes story and to all the other vets. reading this - - - IN GOD WE TRUST - My father would tell me about Bob the fun they had at Fort Ord my father also knew that you were a born leader I came up to the Ca Memorial at the state park your father read this I never forgot : An old warrior's wish "When I am dead, cry for me a little. Think of me sometimes, but not too much. It is not good for you to dwell too long. Think of me now and again as I was in life, at some moment which is pleasant to recall, but not for long. Leave me in peace as I shall leave you, too, in peace."
