You all should, be very proud. I believe, that he and many others served, there Country well, to help bring, not only America, but Canada and many other country's, freedom. My personal goal is, to help make sure, that he and the other millions, of war vieterans, didn't die trying, for nothing, I will do my part, to try make peace, in my school, town and country. Doing this project, made me realize, that their is something, to look forward to, in the future. maybe one day, the courage of Lt., Bob Byrnes and the millions, who fought for our countries, will pay off, maybe one day, there will be peace. Thank you, Lt., Bob Byrnes and the many others, for your sacrifice, you're the heroes, of the world. Luv to all, Christina. Feb 27, 2008 |

W John Schuck, LTC., USA (Ret.) Childersburg, Al. We Still, Run Together Bob was lieutenant, in the Light, Infantry Battalion. As a former enlisted man, commissioned, at Fort Sill, I was the oldest. Bob was, a solid officer, who enjoyed, life and loved, the Army. He was, a good and outstanding, officer and friend, to all and I have thought of him, often, through the years. When I finally, got up enough courage, to personaly view, The Wall in 2008, I searched for and found, his name. Through the tears and memories, I relived our times, at Fort Sill, OK., 42, years ago. His death has caused me, to be mindful, of my own mortality, all these years. I Think of him, still and I miss him. For Bob & your family, we didn't forget about you, for it has been, 40, years. Bob I Wish I Could Hear Your Laughter And See Your Smile You can not believe how much I have thought about you over the years. Tim   Killion La Sierra High School friend Indianapolis, IN 46268 USA May his friends and family find comfort in their memories
I was a year behind Bob in high school. My dad was friends with Bob's father. While in the Army, my dad told me that Bob had been killed shortly after I arriving in country. I was back in Carmichael in June and visited the high school where they have a nice plaque in the nature area with Bob's name and other's graduates who died in Vietnam. I honor Bob's courage and sacrifice. May his friends and family find comfort in Bob's memories.

Rick   Dunn Colonel Ret. Carmichael CA 95608 USA “You are Remembered”
Someone once wrote, "How can it be that someone so young can give their life for their county and so few acknowledge his sacrifice. Some of us care. A simple thank you seems so inadequate, but it is all I have." Rest in peace with the warriors. Bob has not been forgotten.
