Lt., Robert S,Byrnes, of Carmichael, Ca.,
Dear Fallen Soldier
Our class is making remembrances, for the virtual wall for many of the soldiers, that died, in the Vietnam War. You and many other soldiers, paid the supreme sacrifice, for your family, friends and your country. It is a privilege to live, in the United States. Your service, loyalty and love for this country, is a priceless gift, to this country.

it has been 40, years
It is said a man hasn't died, as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans, to remember our fallen brother, Bob Byrnes. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I'am not there, I do not sleep. I'am a thousand winds that blow, I'am the diamond glints, on snow. I'am the sunlight, on ripened grain, I'am the gentle, autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I'am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I'am the stars, that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I'am not there, I did not die.

You hopped a helicopter, for a ride back in September, 1967
I will not, forget you
I didn't know you long, as you had only been in D, troop, 3rd, of 5th, Cav., for a short time, before you was K.I.A., 40, years ago. You and I talked that day, as you asked me a question about the helicopter, For a Lt., that was very good for me, no one took the time to respect us. thank you, Lt., Byrnes, for that great day for the crew I served, as a door gunner on. I will, always remember you.
